Helping Administer to the Needs of the Student with Diabetes in School (H.A.N.D.S.SM)
The program is a live full day continuing education program developed by the National Association of School Nurses for school nurses. It provides the school nurse with current diabetes management knowledge, including tools and resources designed to help them as they work with students, families, school staff and health care providers to facilitate safe and effective diabetes management at school.

The New Mexico Department of Health has secured funding to cover the training and manual costs for 38 nurses. This training can cost up to $150 at other locations. Nurses must provide their own transportation to/from the meeting as well as any travel & meal costs. The 38 seats will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. To reserve space, nurses must email their name, district, school, phone and email address to: HANDS@KessJones.com. A confirmation will be emailed upon reciept of all information.
