General information

There is NO COST to participate in the Institute, however, it is REQUIRED that teachers attend the FULL Institute. If you cannot commit to attending the Institute from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm on Tuesday, October 27 and 8:00 to 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 28, please do not submit your name for consideration.

The following attendee expenses are covered by the Institute sponsors:

• Cost of lodging for two nights (shared accommodations) for individuals who live more than 45 miles outside of Albuquerque
• Breakfast and lunch both days
• Curriculum materials
• Reimbursement for up to two days for teacher’s substitute

Please note: Although applicable to nurses, counselors, social workers and other school health professionals, the Institute is designed for and therefore ONLY OPEN TO CLASSROOM TEACHERS.

Since Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) is our largest district, we have allocated forty-five (45) slots for high/middle school teachers and fifteen (15) for elementary school teachers. Space will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and the Institute does sell out. Since you do not need to coordinate through an intermediary, you may register directly online. Last year the Institute sold out, and this year we have decreased the number of slots in each track (40 in the secondary tracks and 80 in the elementary track), so don’t delay – contact your district liaison, or, if you are with Albuquerque Public Schools, register TODAY.
