Lodging
If you traveled more than 45 miles (one way) to the Institute, you are eligible for shared accommodations, courtesy of the Institute. Your District Liaison was responsible for submitting the name of your roommate from the members of your district team. Please speak with them directly regarding any special roommate preference. Attendees have the option of upgrading to a single room at a cost of $75.00 per night.
You will receive confirmation of your hotel reservation from the conference office via email. Please note that you will be asked to present a credit card upon check in for any incidental expenses you may incur (phone, movies, room service, etc.)
Substitute Pay Reimbursement
The Institute is covering the cost for up to two days of substitute pay. You will receive a reimbursement form at the conclusion of the Institute that you are to provide to the individual in your school/district that is responsible for accounts receivable. The form will include detailed instructions on what is required by the Institute office in order to pay for the substitutes. Please note, substitute pay reimbursement forms will only be distributed at the end of the conference.
Cancellation
If you find yourself unable to attend, please contact the Institute office immediately at (505) 266-3451 so that we may make the appropriate arrangements. You may NOT send a replacement without approval from the Institute office. We may have a wait list and those individuals will receive priority on any available open spaces. Please note that if you do not cancel your participation, your school will be charged for any expenses incurred on your behalf.
Special Accommodations
If you are in need of special accommodations, i.e. sign language interpretation, please contact the conference office at (505) 715-5222 by October 1, 2006. TDD or TTY users may access this number via the New Mexico Relay Network at (800) 659-8331.
Dress
Trying to find a room temperature at which everyone can be comfortable is nearly impossible. Half the attendees are usually too cold and the rest too hot. Therefore, we highly recommend you bring a sweater or light jacket and dress in layers so you can adjust to the room. Dress is business casual. Please note that you may be doing some light physical activity so dress accordingly.
Children
Although the content of the Institute is centered on the needs of children, please note that this conference provides professional training to adults and is NOT SUITABLE for children.
