Pre-conference Objectives
Upon completion of the conference, the participant will more effectively…
1. promote communication between all members of the palliative care team, including medicine, nursing,
social work, chaplaincy, nutrition and pharmacy to provide high quality palliative care for patients and
their families.
2. provide education to palliative care team members so that they can become an information resource
for patients and their families.
3. understand the psychosocial and spiritual concerns arising for individuals and families dealing with end
of life issues.
4. affirm the life of the patient by enhancing the quality of palliative care provided.
