Collaborating to support pregnant and parenting teens in achieving school and parenting success.

Please join the New Mexico GRADS (Graduation Reality and Dual-Role Skills) Program, school-based health centers, the Public Education Department, the Department of Health and the Office of the Attorney General in an active planning forum focused on developing a model of collaboration to support pregnant and parenting teens in achieving both school and parenting success.

The goals of this meeting are to:

  • Bring GRADS programs, school-based health centers, school-based child care centers, school nurses, school administrators and other key stakeholders together.
  • Provide information about a new Health and Human Services grant focused on developing a model for creating linkages and coordination between GRADS programs, school-based health centers, community resources and a state level teen dating violence program and legal services through the Attorney General’s office.

  • Discuss the challenges, barriers and gaps that exist in providing support to pregnant and parenting teens and explore solutions.
  • Discuss opportunities for collaboration and coordination in providing effective programs and services for pregnant and parenting teens and their families.

This planning forum is a great opportunity to participate in an exciting dialogue about developing community-specific plans that support a continuum of care for pregnant and parenting teens and their families.
