CONFERENCE TITLE SPONSOR

OSAH is the office of the New Mexico Department of Health that works to improve student and adolescent health through integrated school-based or school-linked health services.  OSAH also engages in adolescent health promotion and disease prevention activities directly and through collaboration with public and private agencies across New Mexico.  OSAH staff guide policy development on school and adolescent health issues and are involved in workforce development and training's for those providing services to New Mexico youth.

ENVISION

PRECONFERENCE SESSION SPONSOR

Envision New Mexico (ENM) is a healthcare quality improvement (QI) program of the Department of Pediatrics, University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. The program has been partnering with the NM Departments of Health (DOH) and Human Services (HSD), the New Mexico Pediatric Society, Indian Health Service, New Mexico Alliance on School-based Health Care, New Mexico Salud Managed Care Organizations and other healthcare entities around the state since 2005.  Envision NM currently works with primary care and behavioral health providers in community practices and School-based Health Centers (SBHCs) throughout the state.

The New Mexico Alliance for School-Based Health Care represents school-based health centers in New Mexico and collaborates with other school health partners to promote, facilitate, and advocate for comprehensive, culturally competent health care in schools. Membership to the Alliance is free.

HEALTY SCHOOL REPORT CARD MEETING SPONSOR

Through intra-inter agency collaboration, the School and Family Support Bureau works to promote healthier schools by providing support and resources to Local Education Agencies (LEAs). This coordination, along with technical assistance, enables schools to develop and implement instructional programs designed to improve instruction and increase student learning. This coordinated approach to school health provides a framework for linking health and education which is based on the philosophy that “healthy kids make better students and better students make healthier communities”.

The Center for Rural and Community Behavioral Health (CRCBH) was established within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico in 1993 to provide community oriented services to underserved populations, engage in rural training and workforce development and strengthen the behavioral health services research capacity in New Mexico. CRCBH programs focus on training, Native American programs, tele-behavioral health, research & evaluation, and school mental health.
