Returning PreK Teaching Staff

Returning teachers and educational assistants (those hired before January 2011) are required to attend NM PreK Training for Returning PreK Staff. 

The training will expand upon best practices for observation, documentation and planning.  It will assist staff to use these practices to ensure a rich play-based environment focusing on the NM PreK Early Learning Outcomes and Indicators. There will be one single day training in the fall and one single day training in the spring; both are mandatory.

Returning teaching staff are also encouraged to attend an ECERS-R Training, however, it is not required. The Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale - Revised was created to help determine appropriate classroom environments.
