New Mexico PreK

2008 - 2009 Events

Welcome to the New Mexico PreK Events Web site. Throughout the year, we will update you on all training and meetings available for the NM PreK programs. This web site is your tool to stay connected with the happenings in the NM PreK training/meeting community. Please check the web site often for updates and new trainings/meetings.

Important things to remember:

  • All trainings have limits on the number of people that can attend - once full they will be closed.
  • All trainings have to meet a minimum number of attendees in order to be held - if a training doesn't meet the attendance minimum it may be cancelled.
  • If you register at the last minute (i.e. the day before the training/meeting) we may not be able to accommodate your lodging request or include you on the attendee roster.
  • If you find you're are unable to attend a training/meeting, please change your registration or contact the training/meeting office; especially if we reserved a room for you at the hotel!

Personal Accommodations: If you are in need of personal accommodations, please contact the trainings/meetings management office at (505) 266-3451, toll-free at (866) 219-4582, or via email at PreK@KessJones.com. TTY users may access this number via the New Mexico Relay Network at (800) 659-8331.

Lodging: When registering for your trainings/meetings, you will notice a lodging section. Our trainings/meetings management office will be making all hotel reservations for you!  The room and tax will be paid to the hotel by the NewMexicoKids Network; therefore, there will be no lodging reimbursement to individuals. We only have the resources to provide for shared accommodations. You will be given the option of paying for a single room at our special rate at all trainings.  When registering you will be asked for the name of your roommate. If you do not have a roommate, one will be assigned to you. When assigning roommates, same sex will be a requirement.  If you have any questions or concerns about your roommate assignment please contact us.

Important: If you are registering within three (3) business days of the training/meeting date you must call the registration office to verify if lodging is available.

Mileage and Meal Reimbursement: Mileage will be reimbursed at $.32 per mile for anyone traveling more than 50 miles one-way. For those traveling more than 50 miles, you will also be reimbursed for meals.  The maximum reimbursement is $20 for pre-training dinner and $20 for post-training dinner (if applicable). Only travel meals and meals not provided at the trainings will be reimbursed. Alcoholic beverages will not be reimbursed.

Other Information about meal and mileage reimbursement:

  • All reimbursement requestes for meals must be accompanied with a legible copy of the meal receipt.
  • Meals will only be reimbursed for actual amount spent if less than the maximum reimbursable amount.
  • If a meal exceeds the reimbursable amount, reimbursement will only be for the stated maximum reimbursement.
  • All mileage and meal reimbursement it to be submitted to our third party program management office, Kesselman-Jones, Inc., within 30 days of the training/meeting.
  • Reimbursement forms will be distributed at your training/meeting. All forms turned in after the 30 day payment period will not be reimbursed.

Substitute Reimbursement: Substitute reimbursement is an allowable expense that can be billed to your NM PreK PED/ CYFD Program grant. Substitute reimbursement will not be paid through the NewMexicoKids Network.

What to Wear: Wear comfortable, business-casual clothes. Training/

meeting rooms are notorious for being either too cool or warm; we suggest dressing in layers.

Children: Please note that these trainings/meetings provide professional training to adults and are not suitable for children.

Cell Phones/ Pagers: Out of courtesy to your fellow attendees and our presenters, please make sure to turn cell phones and pagers off or to the vibrate mode when attending sessions.  If you are on call, we ask that you sit in the aisle seats near the back and exit the room before answering the call.
