Company Background

Founded in 1990, Kesselman-Jones, Inc., an award-winning, woman-owned, full-service event/ conference management firm, provides innovative, results-oriented event coordination, marketing and communication services to a wide variety of clients. The staff of Kesselman-Jones, Inc. represents experience in all marketing and communications disciplines. They provide services in the corporate, agency, government and non-profit environments for a wide variety of service and manufacturing organizations. The following are examples of Kesselman-Jones Inc.’s services:

    CONFERENCE MANAGEMENT/SPECIAL EVENTS

      • Kesselman-Jones, Inc. has coordinated conferences ranging in size from 40 – 1,500 people, both locally and in other cities throughout the U.S., for numerous clients including the New Mexico Public Education Department, the New Mexico Department of Health, the Albuquerque Tribune, the City of Albuquerque, the City of Santa Fe, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,  and Sandia National Laboratories.  We have managed multiple projects for the majority of our clients.
  • Kesselman-Jones, Inc. has coordinated numerous special events ranging from grand openings to corporate banquets.  Events include a 95th anniversary celebration for Harley-Davidson, Inc., the grand opening of Century Theatres in Albuquerque and Orange County, CA, the re-opening of the University of New Mexico’s Fine Arts Center, the Clovis kick-off for the New Mexico State Lottery and annual meetings for Diagnostek, Inc. and Sun Healthcare.
  • For three consecutive years, Kesselman-Jones, Inc. produced the Quality New Mexico Awards ceremony attended by more than 600 community leaders from throughout New Mexico.

 

    FUNDRAISING

  • For two years, Kesselman-Jones, Inc. served as the management office for the International Family Film Festival, a three-day, four-night event which features films for and about the family.  The Festival was a fundraiser for the Albuquerque-based nonprofit organization, Futures for Children. The Festival included up to 60 film screenings, special events (both public and private), and an awards dinner. The inaugural event raised $80,000 and featured special guest celebrities Sally Field, Kurt Russell, Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen and JoBeth Williams.  Year two welcomed Goldie Hawn, Michael Gross and nearly 30 filmmakers from throughout the United States.
  • For four consecutive years, Kesselman-Jones, Inc. served as the management office for the Albuquerque AIDS Walk. This event benefits local non-profit organizations which provide AIDS-related services in Albuquerque.  Event
    componText Box:  ents include corporate sponsorships, walk team development, program ad sales, in-kind donations, volunteer coordination and event promotions.  Approximately 1,500 walkers participated.  The 1996 Walk raised $105,000,  1997 raised $125,000, and 1998 raised $150,000.
  • For three consecutive years, Kesselman-Jones, Inc. coordinated Women’s Voices: a festival of jazz, blues and salsa.  This fundraiser for non-profit organizations, the New Mexico Jazz Workshop and the Women’s Economic Self-Sufficiency Team (WESST corp), was an outdoor concert at the Rio Grande Zoo which showcased New Mexico’s female musicians.  Attended by more than 3,000, this event raises approximately $40,000 annually for the organizations.

 

    PUBLIC RELATIONS/MARKETING

  • Kesselman-Jones, Inc. created an award-winning campaign with the New Mexico Department of Health to cr eate a state-wide public awareness campaign on Children’s Behavioral Health. One of the components of this campaign was to bring a national exhibit of children’s art curated by New York University to three New Mexico cities.  Kesselman-Jones, Inc. served as project manager and was responsible for marketing and public relations, sponsorship, community outreach, ancillary programming and school tours.  Winner 2002 American Marketing Association, New Mexico Chapter, Marketer of the Year.
  • Kesselman-Jones, Inc. conducted a three-year, statewide public awareness campaign on folic acid for the New Mexico Department of Health, Public Health Division.  The project included conducting focus groups, direct mail campaigns, developing a variety of print materials and creating an exhibit booth and training module.
  • Kesselman-Jones, Inc. provided marketing and public relations consultation to two start-up businesses: NUCHIK, Inc., a company working to build an integrated poultry processing plant employing 900 people in Artesia, NM and Emergency Data Services, Inc., a state-of-the-art emergency medical information card.  Kesselman-Jones, Inc. also assisted NUCHIK with their shareholder relations.
  • Kesselman-Jones, Inc. successfully launched the first Hyatt Hotel in New Mexico, which garnered local and national press coverage. The company’s strong media relationships resulted in more than 70 placements nationally in print, television and radio.  In conjunction with the launch, Kesselman-Jones, Inc. saw the organization through its first experience with crisis communications when questions arose from neighborhood and minority groups about the hotel’s hiring practices.
  • For four consecutive years, Kesselman-Jones, Inc. provided on-going public relations and marketing services to The Albuquerque Salvation Army.
  • Kesselman-Jones developed and published a 60-page DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) Resource Guide for the City of Albuquerque, Department of Family and Community Services.  The guide is in its third edition.
