POSITION: Accountant 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Kesselman-Jones, Inc. is seeking a full-time accountant. The responsibilities of this job include the overseeing of Kesselman-Jones, Inc.’s accounting and bookkeeping functions. Specific job requirements include:

 

Bookkeeping

  • Data entry for A/P, A/R, and Payroll systems.
  • Quarterly and Annual Journal Entry maintenance.
  • Assist in cash flow management, including direct contact with customer/vendors
  • Maintaining fiscal files
  • Maintaining client budgets
  • Processing payroll and accounts payable
  • Reconciling bank statements
  • Updating accounts receivable
  • Processing month-end close-out
  • Updating payables and receivables
  • Collection of unpaid invoices
  • Financial reporting

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two years of college or university work or completion of a specialized vocational/technical accounting program
  • At least 3 years of work experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed on the job description. Preference given to those with experience in an agency environment (retainers)
  • Intermediate to advanced experience in QuickBooks Pro 2007
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. This includes Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds

 

POSITION: Internship

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kesselman-Jones, Inc. is seeking an intern for the spring/fall semesters.  The internship offers flexible scheduling, within normal business hours, requiring a minimum of 10 hours a week.  The intern will assist the communications firm in planning and executing events and conferences, as well as other duties necessary in maintaining a business.

Interns can expect to be exposed to the following communication situations:

  • Event registration
  • Writing of internal and external documents
  • Editing copy
  • Reviewing contracts
  • Interfacing with clients, vendors, speakers and attendees
  • Maintaining project status documents
  • On site event interaction
  • Evaluation tabulation
